Sadayah Q. DuRant is an Associate of the firm and specializes in Labor Law.

Prior to joining Genova Burns, Ms. DuRant served as an Associate Township Attorney in Mercer County where she assisted in representing a Township in various legal matters including In Rem Tax Sale Foreclosures, Sale of Vacant and Abandoned Properties, Drafting of municipal ordinances and resolutions, and management of OPRA responses. Ms. DuRant also assisted in defending the Township against various Tort Claims and interpreting and monitoring compliance with New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory, Enforcement Assistance, and Marketplace Modernization Act.

Prior to that Ms. DuRant worked at a local law firm where she assisted in labor and employment law matters on behalf of public employers, agencies, and labor unions. She also assisted with trial preparation for several federal and state civil litigation and federal criminal defense matters.

Ms. DuRant served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Verna G. Leath, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey-Essex Vicinage, Criminal Division, where she assisted in the management of the Criminal and Mental health docket and pre-trial detention hearings during the implementation of the New Jersey Bail Reform.

Ms. DuRant received her Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers Law School where she was an Associate Editor for the Race & Law Review Journal and Pro Bono Scholar Award Recipient for over 100 hours of service. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University where she was a James Dickson Carr Scholar and Chairman of the Educational Opportunity Program Student Association.
