A highly regarded healthcare regulatory attorney, Mr. Langjahr has served as General Counsel to multiple pharmacy benefit management companies (“PBMs”) and a captive insurance company providing stop-loss drug benefit coverage, in addition to acting as outside general counsel to emerging pharmaceutical and healthcare technology companies.
Mr. Langjahr regularly counsels PBMs, rebate aggregators, pharmacies, PSAOs, healthcare technology companies, insurers, and managed care organizations on complex regulatory, compliance, operational, and contractual matters. His practice includes advising clients on managed care arrangements, network and claims processing agreements, rebate aggregation and manufacturer contracts, utilization review and prior authorization services, patient communications, and pharmacy-related transactions.
His extensive regulatory experience includes matters involving Medicare, Medicaid, 340B, HIPAA, ERISA, the Federal Trade Commission Act, federal and state anti-kickback and Stark laws, false claims issues, licensing matters, compliance program development, and government investigations, including matters involving the Office of Inspector General (“OIG”).
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Langjahr is an active speaker and author on healthcare and pharmacy industry topics and has published articles in industry publications including U.S. Pharmacist. He is a member of the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP), the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), and the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP).
Mr. Langjahr earned his B.A. in Accounting from Walsh College (now Walsh University) and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in California, Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
