R. Edward Stone III is an Associate at Genova Burns, pending bar admission, where he contributes to matters spanning bankruptcy, political compliance, and civil litigation. Edward first joined the firm as a law clerk during his second year of law school and quickly distinguished himself for his research skills, practical judgment, and ability to balance complex assignments across multiple practice areas. His work has included drafting complaints, demand letters, and contracts, as well as analyzing regulatory compliance issues in bankruptcy and election law.

Edward graduated from Rutgers Law School in 2025, where he served as Secretary of the American Constitution Society and Events Coordinator for the Labor and Employment Law Society. During his time at Rutgers, he also completed a summer internship with Broege Neumann Fischer & Shaver LLC, focusing on bankruptcy and related matters. He earned his undergraduate degree from Kean University in 2020, graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in English and a minor in Sociology.

Before pursuing a career in law, Edward spent several years working in his family’s construction business, where he gained hands-on experience in project oversight, operations, and leadership. That early training in accountability and problem-solving continues to inform his approach to legal work today.

A lifelong athlete, Edward remains active in firm and community events. He is a regular participant on Genova Burns’ “Battle of the Barristers” softball team and recently placed second in the firm inaugural Racing Team 5K Corporate Fun Run in 2025. Outside the office, he enjoys road running, surfing, skiing, yoga, and hiking—especially when joined by his wife and their dog. Born and raised in Toms River, New Jersey, Edward still maintains close ties to his hometown.
