With a robust background in election law and political compliance, Mr. Clewell focuses his practice on state and local elections, advocacy efforts, voter protection, and assisting clients in reaching their political and policy goals nationwide.
With his experience in high-profile election litigation, Mr. Clewell has built a strong reputation among elected officials across the state, having collaborated with numerous federal, state, and local candidates since joining the firm.
Additionally, Mr. Clewell advises businesses, trade associations, and individuals on lobbying, campaign finance laws, and government ethics. He helps set up and manage PACs and Super PACs and guides tax-exempt organizations in political engagement. Mr. Clewell also assists political candidates and officials with campaign finance compliance and represents them in FEC and ELEC investigations.
In addition to his work at Genova Burns, Mr. Clewell serves as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army Reserve, providing defense counsel services in the Northeast United States. Mr. Clewell also serves as a prosecutor for the City of Plainfield, Chair of the New Providence Democratic Committee, and President of the Union County Young Democrats.
Mr. Clewell is a graduate Seton Hall School of Law and New York University.
