Thomas L. Bellifemine, Counsel, focuses his career on Employment Litigation. Mr. Bellifemine represents employers in federal and state court, arbitral forums, and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York City Commission on Human Rights, and the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights. He has experience litigating a wide range of employment matters including, but not limited to claims of employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Mr. Bellifemine has extensive experience investigating employment matters and litigating cases from inception through trial or settlement. This includes, but is not limited to, drafting pleadings; drafting discovery and dispositive motions; arguing motions; taking and defending depositions; attending court conferences in both federal and state courts; and handling mediations and other settlement negotiations, including drafting settlement agreements.
Prior to joining Genova Burns, Mr. Bellifemine represented plaintiffs in a wide range of employment matters in both state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies. Mr. Bellifemine began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted felonies and misdemeanors from arrest through jury trial.
Mr. Bellifemine received his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law, and is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
