Rebecca Moll Freed Welcomes Alix James as Co-Counsel to the Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey's Board of Trustees

The Women’s Political Caucus (WPC) of New Jersey held its Annual Meeting on May 11, 2015 and featured an inspiring keynote address by Julie Hermann, Rutgers University Athletic Director. Hermann discussed her admiration for women engaged in politics and government and the similarities between politics and the male-dominated world of sports. The Annual Meeting marks the end of a successful year of events, fundraising and education initiatives by the WPC, and the kick-off for a new season of activities with newly sworn in officers.

As the WPC gears up for another successful year, Partner Rebecca Moll Freed will continue to serve as Board Counsel to the WPC (a position she has held since 2010) and is looking forward to having Associate Alix James join her as Co-Counsel to the WPC Board of Trustees. Ms. Freed noted, “I have enjoyed serving as Board Counsel to the WPC over the past 5 years and being part of such an incredible network of women. I look forward to serving as Co-Counsel with my colleague, Alix, so that we may best serve the WPC’s needs together as a team.”

Ms. Freed is Director of the firm’s Corporate Political Activity Law Group, the Non-Profit and Tax Exempt Organization Practice Group and the Vendor Political Activity & Ethics Compliance Training & Audit Programs. She is also a member of the Public Contract Law & Bid Protest Litigation Practice Group.

Ms. Freed is co-Chair of the firm’s Inclusionary Initiative, which encompasses the firm’s Women’s Initiative and Diversity Initiative. The Inclusionary Initiative focuses on the common goal of fostering better lawyers and serving our clients’ needs. Ms. Freed also serves as the firm’s point Marketing Partner and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm’s Marketing Department.

Alix James is a member of the Corporate Political Activity, Commercial Real Estate & Redevelopment and Craft Beer, Spirits & Alcohol Law Practice Groups at Genova Burns. Ms. James is also a member of the firm's Professional Development Committee.

The Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey is dedicated to increasing women's participation in the political process, increasing the number of women in elected and appointed office and creating a women's political power base to achieve equality for ALL women.
