Joseph M. Hannon to Present at 100th Annual NJ State League of Municipalities Conference

Firm Counsel Joseph M. Hannon will lead two sessions entitled “The Sun is Not Setting on c. 78” and “Interest Arbitration Update” at the 100th Annual New Jersey State League of Municipalities Conference on November 18 and 19 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

The session entitled “The Sun is Not Setting on c. 78” will focus on the sunset provision on Chapter 78 health benefits that took effect in June 2015 and how it operates for both union and non-union employees.  Mr, Hannon will specifically concentrate on how to handle negotiations in light of the current sunset provision once employees reach Tier 4 of the Chapter 78 benefits.  The session will also discuss strategies for negotiation in the response to the Affordable Care Act’s “Cadillac Tax”, coming into effect in 2018.

The session entitled “Interest Arbitration Update” will cover current status and trends in interest arbitration, law enforcement and firefighting units.
