By: Joseph V. ManneyNew Jersey’s minimum wage will increase from $8.25 to $8.38 per hour on January 1, 2015. This increase is the result of a Constitutional Amendment that New Jersey voters approved in November 2013 which tied future increases in the minimum wage to increases in the consumer price index for all urban wage earners and clerical workers (“CPI”). The $0.13 increase in the minimum wage reflects a 1.59% increase in the CPI.
