Genova Burns Is Proud To Have Partnered Up With The Salvation Army Newark Area Services For Their Angel Tree Program
December 23, 2022
Genova Burns LLC was excited to continue our #GenovaBurnsGivesBack initiative for the 2022 holiday season and grateful for the opportunity to partner up with The Salvation Army Newark Area Services for their Angel Tree Program, benefitting the Newark area.
The Salvation Army Newark serves children from “Tier-One needs” local schools through their afterschool programs, case management programs, relationships with schools in the area, or anyone who registers through another avenue. Selected children into the Angel Tree program are allowed to ask for three toy wishes, one of which will be fulfilled by an Angel.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program is based on a “toy shop” model that focuses on two main priorities – preserving the dignity of the parents and allowing for later registration to accommodate any families that might experience hardship closer to the end of the year.
The Salvation Army creates a “toy shop” on their premises, after picking up the toys from the organizations that have agreed to partner with them, where parents are able to walk through and pick out a gift for their loved one- the exact same way we all do when we shop for family and friends.
Genova Burns LLC is thrilled to announce that we smashed our initial goal and were able to answer 50 wishes from children of the local Newark area this holiday season.
The Salvation Army USA has a very proud heritage of being there for folks when they need it most – whether because of hunger, natural disaster, or holiday need. While The Salvation Army is a church – all their social services are offered to participants without any requirement or expectation of faith or any other factor; need is the only determining factor in their services. In fact, in their mission statement they are bound to “meet human needs … without discrimination.” The Salvation Army Newark Area Services is committed to serving 1000 children this year, four times as many as they served last holiday season, and Genova Burns LLC certainly showed their generous spirit in helping The Salvation Army Newark attain its lofty goal.
