BINJE - Borek Named Managing Partner At Genova Burns

January 1, 2026

Jennifer Borek, a highly respected attorney whose practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, government contracts and procurement law, has been named managing partner at Genova Burns.

Borek is the first woman to hold the role in the history of the prestigious Newark-based firm. She succeeds Jim Burns, a co-founder and the most recent managing partner.

“Today the firm transitions to the next generation of leadership,” Burns said. “The firm builds on Jennifer’s more than two decades at Genova Burns, particularly over the last several years when she was tapped to lead the firm’s commercial litigation practice group to a new level. Given her well-earned reputation for common sense, crisp, analytical intelligence and no-nonsense, get-to-the-point approach.”

As managing partner, Borek will oversee the firm’s strategic direction and operations while continuing to maintain an active practice. Her selection underscores Genova Burns’ commitment to excellence, leadership development, and client service.

“I am honored to step into the role of managing Genova Burns,” Borek said. “I look forward to working with our firm’s founding partners to continue the firm’s commitment to excellence in the profession; and – along with our extraordinary lawyers and staff – building and growing upon that legacy.”
