Partner Charles J. Messina, Esq. recently conducted a Master Class webinar for New York Law School entitled "CBD: From Hemp-ty Promises to the 2018 Farm Bill and Beyond.”

Mr. Messina, an alum of NYLS, shared his practice area knowledge and experience with students and alumni, and then presented an overview of the Farm Bill and New York and New Jersey hemp regulations, as well as a variety of other legal hurdles and industry concerns including the FDA’s impact on marketing, trademarking, and the emergence of class action lawsuits and future TCPA claims.

Mr. Messina was joined at the end of the webinar by Cannabis Law Practice co-Chair Michael C. McQueeny, who weighed in on, among other things, the effect of COVID-19 on the industry and overlap between the future landscape of cannabis licensure in the region.

Mr. Messina and Mr. McQueeny will be co-teaching NYLS’s first Cannabis Law course during the Fall 2020 semester.
