Jennifer Roselle and Justine Abrams to Present on Medical Marijuana in the Workplace for NJSLOM

December 4, 2018

Counsel Jennifer Roselle and Associate Justine L. Abrams will present a webinar for the New Jersey State League of Municipalities (NJSLOM) on December 5th entitled “Medical Marijuana:What Public Employers Need To Know in New Jersey”. Discussion will focus on New Jersey’s Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act (NJCUMMA), which decriminalizes medical marijuana, and what it means for the workplace. The interplay between NJCUMMA, the Federal Controlled Substances Act, the various federal and state laws prohibiting workplace discrimination against disabled individuals, and the various laws affecting drug policies has caused confusion for many employers in New Jersey. In this webinar, Ms. Roselle and Ms. Abrams will explain those laws and discuss what protections medical marijuana users do and do not have in the workplace, as well as the negotiability of drug testing issues in the context of collective bargaining.
