New Jersey Alliance for Action Annual Offshore Wind Conference - Event Recap

Genova Burns’s own Rebecca Moll Freed moderated a panel with top environmental experts on the topic of wind energy on June 14th at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe. The event, part of the New Jersey Alliance for Action series, saw Rebecca engage with top environmental figures about harnessing the power of wind energy in our state and beyond. Genova Burns also served as a sponsor for this event.

Prior to the panel, presenters discussed the development and necessity of offshore wind projects. These presenters included industry experts like Crystal Pruitt, External Affairs Lead for Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, James Fakult, President of JCP&L, and John Pauling, Region Americas Offshore Construction Lead for Orsted.

Rebecca then moderated a panel with Roly Acosta, Janice Fuller, Andrew Raichle, Richmond Young, and Olaf Olsen. They all fielded questions from Rebecca, ranging from the various timelines of various wind power projects to current events that stress these projects, mainly the poor air quality in the tri-state area last week stemming from the wildfires in Canada. The benefits stressed were primarily twofold; not only will these wind projects help the environment but they will also promote job growth in the state.

Genova Burns has supported these projects for quite some time.

“Collaboration is essential. There’s room for everybody at the table,” Rebecca said. “The firm has a phenomenal knowledge of renewables.”

Collaboration is a key part of these wind energy projects, as engineers, consultants, carpenters, lawyers, and more all must work together to get these projects off the ground.
