Shaun Abreu Authors Article for Quinnipiac Health Law Journal

December 19, 2018

Firm Associate Shaun Abreu has written an article titled “Navigating Choppy Waters: Reasonable Accommodations in Standardized Testing and the Workplace for Individuals with ADHD,” which was published in the 2018 Quinnipiac Health Law Journal, which is published by the Quinnipiac School of Law in North Haven, Connecticut.

Mr. Abreu’s article explores the hurdles that aspiring attorneys with ADHD face under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The article 1) focuses on the plaintiffs’ evidentiary burden to prove their disability in the context of standardized testing, 2) explores how the courts have facilitated or limited the “reasonable accommodations” available to employees with ADHD to ameliorate their mental impairment, and 3) imagines a world where the availability of cost-effective accommodations will make telecommuting the newest trend.
