New York Governor’s Office Retains Firm to Help Implement Public Campaign Finance Pilot Program

Capital New York reported today that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office has retained Genova Burns “to make sure the state Board of Elections properly implements its pilot program of public campaign financing.” Partner Laurence D. Laufer, Director of the firm’s Corporate Political Activity Law Practice Group, will consult with the Board’s attorneys through next February. An administration official is quoted in the article commenting on why the firm was hired: “because we want to make sure it’s done right.”
