Taking the Next Step: NYC Campaign Finance Board Proposes Rules

On October 18, the NYC Campaign Finance Board will conduct a public hearing to receive comments on proposed rules.  According to the CFB’s notice, the proposed changes conform to amendments to the New York City Campaign Finance Act adopted in 2005 and this past summer. The proposed rules include amendments that address: • Prohibition of contributions from limited liability companies and partnerships • Records required of contributors who do business with the City of New York • Record keeping requirements for campaign vendors and subcontractors • Liability for public funds repayments • Procedures for adjudication of violations and public funds repayment claims.
