Counsel Dina M. Mastellone will be presenting The “Nuts & Bolts” of Employment Law to members of the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers (NJ CAR). The workshop, primarily for Dealer Principals, GMs, GSMs, Controllers and Office Managers, will discuss the “dos and don’ts” of hiring (including pre-employment testing, new requirements for employment applications and the job interview process) as well as employee reprimands, performance appraisals and proper ways of terminating an employee; practical tips on how to avoid risky behavior to prevent claims of harassment or discrimination in the workplace; and managing leave of absence issues under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, the Americans with Disabilities Act as well as the New Jersey Family Leave Law. The workshops will be presented on June 17, 2015 at NJ CAR Headquarters in Trenton and June 18, 2015 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Eatontown.
