Ken Sheehan and Cynthia Holland Elected to Positions In NJSBA’s Public Utility Law Section

 Ken Sheehan, firm Counsel and Director of its Energy & Utility Law Practice Group,  and Associate Cynthia L. M. Holland were both elected last week to positions within the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Public Utility Law Section.  Ms. Holland was elected to the Board of Consultors for a 3 year term, and Mr. Sheehan was elected to the executive board as Assistant Secretary.

The NJSBA’s Public Utility Law Section reviews developments in public utility law and maintains an active liaison with state regulatory entities regarding public utilities.

Prior to joining Genova Burns,  Mr. Sheehan served as the Chief Counsel of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, where he provided advice to the members of the Board, other cabinet-level officials, and the Executive Branch. Mr. Sheehan concentrates his practice in those fields associated with public utilities on a State and federal level, including: electric and gas, water, waste-water, traditional and clean energy, telecommunications, and cable television.

Cynthia L. M. Holland is skilled in matters regarding gas, water and sewerage company rates; rate adjustment clauses; land sales; infrastructure investment; telecommunications, and cable interconnection. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Holland served as a Deputy Attorney General representing the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, where she counseled the Board as it transitioned its solar programs, launched its offshore wind program, initiated contract-managed energy efficiency programs, implemented new net metering and renewable portfolio standard requirements, and branded its award winning programs.
