Rajiv Parikh to Present at Summit for Civil Rights at Rutgers University

May 1, 2019

Firm Partner Rajiv D. Parikh will be a guest speaker at the 2019 Summit for Civil Rights at Rutgers University in New Brunswick on Thursday, May 2nd. The Summit is a program about social and racial justice and expanded middle class opportunity for all Americans that will be presented by Civil Rights leaders, scholars, advocates, activists, elected officials and economists. Its goal is to provide moral, practical and scholarly support to a reinvigorated Civil Rights movement, fueled by the belief that we cannot ignore the racial discrimination and segregation that’s persistent in many parts of American society.

The speakers at the Civil Rights Summit include Majority Whip Congressman James E. Clyburn (the third highest ranked member of Congress), Attorney General Keith Ellison, National Civil Rights Leaders Sherrilyn Ifill and Derrick Johnson, Congressmen Frank Pallone and Andy Kim, Congresswomen Sheila Jackson Lee and Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Barbara Ransby, award-winning Ella Baker biographer. Ms. Ransby, Ms. Lee and Ms. Coleman will pay tribute to three outstanding Civil Rights women leaders.
