Counsel Rajiv Parikh, Panelist on “Why Every Vote Matters - The Legal Basis for and Implications of Your Right to Vote”

On Thursday, March 27, starting at 5:30 PM, firm Counsel Rajiv Parikh will join a distinguished panel at Essex County's Veterans Courthouse discussing the subject, “Why Every Vote Matters- The Legal Basis and Implications for Your Right to Vote." Other participants include County Clerk Christopher Durkin; Debra Dadic, Civil Division Manager, Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage; Michelle Bobrow, Board of Directors, League of Women Voters of Maplewood-South Orange; and Thomas Puryear, President, NAACP: Oranges & Maplewood. This voter education program is being held by the Essex Vicinage, in partnership with the Essex County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, and the Essex County Clerk’s Office.

Against the backdrop of the 50th anniversaries of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, this program will explore the history and evolution of voting rights, current limits on the right to vote, exercising and safeguarding that right, and the process for election challenges.

This program is open to attorneys, members of the public, Judiciary staff, and university and law students. The fee for attorney attendees, who will receive CLE credit through the Essex County Bar Association, is $15. The program is free for non-attorney attendees.
