Mr. Kertz is an experienced real estate attorney, with a diverse practice providing guidance to clients as they navigate the changing market of commercial real estate transactions. He serves as outside counsel for a Fortune 500 retail company and a national technical school with respect to their diverse leasing needs, and he represents clients with national real estate portfolios regarding lease negotiations and disputes throughout the country. In addition, Mr. Kertz drafts and negotiates franchise leases and counsels clients on related matters. He has extensive experience drafting and negotiating leases and assisting landlords and tenants in resolving all aspects of leasing, acquisition and litigation-related issues, ranging the full spectrum of retail, office, franchise and industrial leases, from ground lease to triple net to gross, from month-to-month to 99 years.

Mr. Kertz routinely counsels commercial purchasers and sellers regarding acquisitions, sales, leasing, financing and development projects as well as acquiring and disposing of real estate. He assists in negotiating workout agreements with lenders and advises landlords and tenants in commercial real estate disputes and provides litigation assistance as needed. Mr. Kertz handles contract and settlement negotiations with a focus on complex commercial real estate issues.

Internationally, Mr. Kertz works with short term New Jersey rentals, both commercial and residential.
