September 10, 2012

Firm Counsel Rebecca Moll Freed taught a course entitled “Political Activity – What is Your Strategy for Compliance? The Dos and Don’ts” for the Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey sponsored by the New Jersey Hospital Association.  Ms. Freed was the presenting faculty for this Continuing Legal Education seminar on State Pay-to-Play restrictions and rules aimed at non-profit and for-profit healthcare facilities seeking to participate in elections. The class examined opportunities for increased levels of permissible political participation in light of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United,  as well as provided attendees with a better understanding of how to participate in elections while staying within the limits of both state and federal law.
