July 19, 2018

Partner Rajiv D. Parikh was quoted in a July 19 Law360 article about the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey’s “Achieving Equality for Minority Attorneys in Federal Court” program, at which he was a panelist. The wide-ranging discussion touched in part on the impact that minority lawyers can have on their clients and the justice system as a whole.

The article quotes Mr. Parikh saying he viewed being a lawyer of color in federal court “as a calling,” and cited studies indicating that “the public’s faith in the system of law reflects whether they believe people that look like them are part of the system.” “Just the presence of that person there provides some level of credibility to the system,” he added, referring to minority attorneys in the courthouse.
